Have you ever encountered someone who is dressed completely against the fashion trends? I used to fall in that category for a very major part of my life. But, college and work environment has caused me to, now, become so particular about the trends and fashion, that every time I buy an ensemble, I make sure that it is appropriate. One thing that I can always bank on, is that even if a certain style is out of the trends for a while, it will return, so hang on to the ensemble if you want, and wear it at the right time.
Hottest 2010 Fashion Trends for Women
One thing about women that cannot be denied is that we love novelty with a dash of stability. May seem confusing to men, but hey, they are not concerned in this, are they? So, to all my lovely female readers, 2010 seems to be the year that embraces the essence of womanhood. It has a lot of novelty, a tad bit of stability and a whole load of funk, hidden and shown. Neutrals and Earthies
Remember the classic SATC dress that is worn by Sarah Jessica Parker for the M11 bus photo? It is a neutral brown "barely there" dress. Now, that is somewhat the start of the trends this year. Earthly and sober colors and tones, in outrageous and bold designs is in this year. So, do not stop yourself from experimenting and throwing the status quo out of the window! Along with that amazing neutral attire, team up bright colored pumps and accessories to bring some color to your look.
Patterns and Prints
Another very important aspect of 2010 fashion trends for women is that massive and heavy patterns and prints. So be it a huge Calvin and Hobbes print on your sweater, or pants with a geometric print, they are all in this year. Yes, experiment and express with your attire and the prints on your attire this year. Team it up with patterned hand bags and stockings. Try hooped jewelry to bring out the patterns more. Hot shorts are officially in. With their trials and errors in 2009, hot shorts have made their way in the 2010 fashion trends. Now, these are one of the trends that I am glad to say, are here to stay! Really short shots in bright and vibrant colors are a part of the exclusive 2010 fashion trends for women. Team up your absolutely hot shots with colorful chunky wooden accessories and jewelry and big sun glasses to add some glamor to your ensemble. Woo-manly Attire
While I am telling the men off from experimenting with women's attire, I cannot say the same about latest fashion trends for women. A 2010 fashion trend also revolves around women gracing masculine attire. Blazers and vests are still in. In fact, it is now extended to long blazers with leggings. Women can accompany the gorgeous blazers and vests along with beads and bangles. I came across a colleague who was looking amazing in a long brown blazer, black leggings along with red and yellow chunky jewelry and big bangles. Outta Balance
Somehow, balance is not really a priority in the fashion trends 2010. The new in-trend pattern and design is short in the front and long at the back. This style made a small appearance in 2008 and 2009. But, now in 2010 it is a resident. So, be it the long kurta styled tops or dresses, go ahead and show those legs off. Mix it up with stilettos or flip flops to go with a posh or casual look, respectively. More so, considering that 2010 is a year of fitness, this trend helps at going through the "slightly chubby" to "awesomely smoking hot" transition very easily!! After about a decade of the fashion front being dominated by the tight jeans and leggings, loose pants are now in the women's fashion trends 2010. I can't say how happy this trend has made me. Yes, so go for the tom boy look with baggy jeans or simply throw on a loose sweater this year, it is totally in. Another important trend this year is sporting attire. So, do not be very surprised to see designer jumpsuits and fashionista sweat pants at the stores. These two trends are vouchers for the fact that 2010 has focused more on comfort, rather than looks!

Well, these are the major 2010 fashion trends for women. While it is fairly important to be conscious about these trends, it is not mandatory to stick to them.
